Color in full bloom
The Maison is collaborating with Alexandre Benjamin Navet, winner of the Grand Prix Design Parade Toulon Van Cleef & Arpels in 2017. The French artist has explored the world of flowers for the first time, bringing plant shapes and dazzling colors into bloom in the window displays of Van Cleef & Arpels’ boutiques. Recreating a sketchbook feel, the project will continue through the year with a large-format interior design concept: a joyful blend of pastel drawing and architecture.
From November 2020 to January 2021, shop windows at Van Cleef & Arpels’ boutique will grace an immersive floral display, specially created by artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet. For this collaboration, the young talent agreed to reinterpret the Maison’s cherished theme of flowers, combined with the vases that are a recurrent motif in his own work. Stems and petals – cut out and reassembled into colorful compositions – seem to emerge from curved sculptures, which also hold the jewels. Created by Alexandre Benjamin Navet in pencil at his Paris studio, the original design reflects the artist’s attachment to spontaneous outlines and explosions of vivid, luminous color.
To celebrate the vitality of nature throughout the year, Alexandre Benjamin Navet and Van Cleef & Arpels have also created large-format scenery, to be installed in-store or at external events. Ample flowers and copious bouquets unfurl across facades and furnishings as if nature had occupied the space during the night. The brightly colored decor – an imaginary garden in oil pastels – will be completed with personalized details to match the destination. This immersive experience will give visitors the dream-like impression of strolling through an open sketchbook, in a blend of architecture and drawing.
