The pieces in Bergeret’s ‘La Parisienne’ are an homage to the stylish fashionista that lies within us all, represented by an iconic Parisian muse. The artist was inspired by iconic artists such as Gustav Klimt, Toulouse Lautrec and Edmond Kiraz when she created the pieces for this exhibition. Bergeret utilises a unique technique that incorporates resin, gold leaf and recycled materials such as designer shopping bags, perfume bottles and pearls to create her stunning pieces. Each artwork pays tribute to prestigous fashion houses, such as Chanel, Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Dior.

David Robinson, CEO of Al Maryah Retail Company, said; “We are delighted to bring Rachel Bergeret’s stunning exhibition to The Galleria Al Maryah Island for the community to enjoy. As the capital’s premier retail destination, we believe fashion is an art form in and of itself, making ‘La Parisienne’ the perfect complement to the world-class fashion houses that call The Galleria home. In line with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability, we’re also thrilled to have collaborated with an artist who utilises recycled materials to bring her stunning pieces to life.”

Curator of the installation and founder of 7 Art Gallery Audrey Trabelsi, expressed her admiration for Bergeret's unique work, stating, "Rachel's technique of repurposing recycled shopping bags from renowned fashion designers to create one-of-a-kind pieces is both innovative and sustainable. Rachel's art questions the role of women in modern society, empowering them to follow their passions and believe in themselves. With private international collectors already interested in her work, we are proud to showcase Rachel's art for the first time in Abu Dhabi here at The Galleria. We invite the community to enjoy this inspiring exhibition as much as we do."
