The Galleria Al Maryah is set to host Chinese New Year celebrations from 09 to 18 February bringing a fusion of culture, entertainment and family-oriented activities to its esteemed guests. This year’s festivities will be located at Level 3, Central Kitchens and are inspired by the Year of the Dragon symbolising good luck and strength, promising a fun-filled experience for families and expat residents alike.
Dance and musical performances #AtTheGalleria
The Galleria has partnered with local cultural and educational entities to host dance and musical performances.
The China Cultural Centre in the UAE in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism showcased a flashmob on 05 February. The performance of the art of the Uyghur Muqam from Xinjiang, China, a grand, comprehensive form of classical music that combines song, dance and instrumental performance. Recognised as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2005 and listed in National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Projects in 2006, it sets the stage for a cultural celebration and exchange #AtTheGalleria.

The act of crafting these envelopes becomes a meaningful and interactive way for participants to connect with the rich tapestry of Chinese culture.
Chinese New Year on Al Maryah Island
Al Maryah Island is set to revive its Chinese New Year celebrations, taking place from 16 to 17 February from 3pm to 10pm and on 18 February from 1pm to 8pm at the South Plaza. Attendees are in for a unique experience, blending family-friendly activities with exhilarating performances. Guests can expect captivating shows by talented entertainers from China, featuring traditional Lion Dancers, Chinese Umbrella Dancers, a Jung Fu Show, face painters, Fortune Mascots and Stilt Walkers, among other skilled artists.
Moreover, the festivities will not only captivate the audience with cultural performances but also tantalise their taste buds with food trucks offering authentic Chinese culinary delights, adding a flavourful dimension to the overall celebration.
