FAQs - ALHOSN GREEN PASS SYSTEM

What is the ‘vaccination’ status entry requirement?

  • As of 20 August 2021, the Abu Dhabi authorities will implement the ALHOSN Green Pass system which confirms an individual’s vaccination status.
  • All guests will need to present their ALHOSN Green Pass to show proof of vaccination status to gain entry to The Galleria, in addition to other public venues identified by the authorities.
  • As an additional precautionary measure, guests will also be EDE scanned upon entry.

How will the ‘vaccination’ status be checked at The Galleria?

  • Security is placed at all entry points, and guests will be required to show their ALHOSN Green Pass to enter the mall.
  • As an additional safety measure, guests will also be EDE scanned prior to entry.
  • Unvaccinated guests, those with grey status on the ALHOSN and individuals who scan positive with the EDE scanner will not be allowed to enter the mall.
  • Children under the age of 16 will have ALHOSN Green Pass status, and do not require a PCR test to enter.

Does this mean the ALHOSN UAE ‘Green Pass’ system will be re-introduced?

  • Yes, the ALHOSN Green Pass system has been updated with several new features and will be reintroduced as of August 20 in line with the entry procedures for public places for vaccinated individuals.
  • The ALHOSN Green Pass system indicates an individual’s status (green, grey, red) based on their PCR test and vaccination status

How do you get and maintain the ALHOSN Green Pass status?

  • The ALHOSN Green Pass is activated 28 days after the second dose of the vaccine, confirming an individual’s valid vaccinated status.
  • The ALHOSN Green Pass is maintained by undergoing a PCR test every 30 days.
  • Furthermore, for those individuals who have specifically taken the full course of the Sinopharm vaccination, a booster shot must be taken six months after receiving the second dose to maintain the ALHOSN Green Pass status.
  • Guests exempt from vaccination must maintain their ALHOSN Green Pass status by undergoing a PCR test every 7 days.
  • Children under the age of 16 will have ALHOSN Green Pass status, and do not require a PCR test to enter.
  • New residency permit holders are considered exempt and are given a grace period of 60 days to be fully vaccinated and receive the ALHOSN Green Pass status.

I am a tourist – do I also need to show proof of ‘vaccination’?

  • Yes, tourists will be able to access The Galleria by presenting a full vaccination certificate from their home country, plus a negative PCR test within the last seven days.
  • Alternatively, tourists can also show their ALHOSN Green Pass to access the mall.
  • The procedure for tourists registering with ALHOSN UAE is outlined below:
    • The Abu Dhabi authorities have announced the process for verifying international vaccination certificates for tourists
    • Before departure, tourists need to register in the Register Arrivals section of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) app, complete the register arrivals form and upload their valid international vaccination certificate. Tourists will then receive an SMS including a link to download the ‘ALHOSN UAE’ app.
    • On arrival in Abu Dhabi, tourists will receive a Unified Identification Number (UID) either at the airport or via ICA app or website.
    • Tourists will need to download and register on the ‘ALHOSN UAE’ app, using the UID and phone number used for ICA registration or when taking a PCR test in the UAE.
  • Tourists are all encouraged to be updated with the latest entry procedures prior to landing in Abu Dhabi.

I have a vaccination appointment at The Galleria, however my ALHOSN app is currently grey. Will I be allowed entry for this specific purpose?

  • Yes, however guests must show proof of their vaccination appointment prior to entry. Guests should also exit the mall after their appointment.

My elderly parent/teenager above 16/other family member does not have a smartphone. How can we show proof of their vaccination status?

  • The ALHOSN UAE app has the capability to add more than one individual to the same smartphone, using their Emirates ID or passport/visa number.
  • We recommend that all guests ensure that their vaccination status is reflected on at least one smartphone within their group when visiting.

My ALHOSN app is not working/doesn’t show my vaccination status – will I be granted entry?

  • As per the latest updates from the Abu Dhabi authorities, ALHOSN Green Pass status is required to enter the mall.
  • We recommend contacting the relevant government bodies to address any technical issues with the ALHOSN UAE app is working before arranging your visit.

My children are under 16 years of age, do they also need to provide proof of a vaccination status?

  • No, the vaccination status requirement will only apply to guests aged 16 and above. Children under 16 will automatically have ALHOSN Green Pass status. No PCR testing is required.
  • Proof of age may need to be shown upon entry (via government-issued ID or passport) for everyone’s safety.

I am exempt from taking the vaccine, do I still need to show my ALHOSN Green Pass to access the mall?

  • Yes, guests exempted from vaccination will have ALHOSN Green Pass status and are required to show this to gain entry to The Galleria.
  • ALHOSN Green Pass status can be maintained for exempted individuals by taking a PCR test every 7 days.

Does the vaccination status entry requirement replace previously introduced precautionary measures at The Galleria (EDE scanners, temperature checks upon entry, observing social distancing, mandatory mask wearing)?

  • The ALHOSN Green Pass system will be used to gain entry to The Galleria, but it does not replace other precautionary measures.
  • For additional safety, guests will be required to undergo an EDE scan.
  • Thermal scanners at mall entrances, social distancing and masks are also still being enforced to ensure the safety of our guests.

What will the mall capacity be after re-introducing the ALHOSN Green Pass system on 20 August?

  • Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has updated operating capacity of some activities in the emirate, effective from August 20, 2021.
  • We are pleased to inform our guests that mall capacity has increased to 80%, including our entertainment attractions and restaurants.
  • In addition, up to 10 people can sit at one table while dining.
